Björk es una clara referencia de lo que una mujer debe de hacer para posicionarse como una artista pilar de la escena contemporánea, pues tuvo que esquivar muchas dificultades hasta llegar al día de hoy. Formó varias bandas siendo en algunas de ellas la baterista. Tuvieron que pasar 25 años de carrera artística para consolidarse y ser una de las mejores artistas que hemos escuchado.

Ha ganado un sinfín de premios MTV, NME Awards, Premio Satellite, Premio Brit, Premio de música popular, entre otros. Ha hecho una película e incluso su más reciente exposición en el MoMA la ha llevado a lo más grande.

La artista islandesa estuvo rodeada  de música desde su nacimiento, cuando tenía dos años de edad sus padres se separaron, su madre se casó con Saevar Árnason integrante de Pops. Su etapa con la música empezó cuando tenía sólo 5 años, pues la inscribieron en Barnamúsikskóli Reykjavikur, donde comenzó a afinar su voz para todos nosotros.

A los 11 años lanzó su primer disco llamado Björk. Este disco sólo se estrenó en Islandia y vendió un poco más de siete mil copias pues en Islandia tuvo ese éxito infantil que todo niño desea tener. Siguió con sus estudios y con esa experimentación de aprender a tocar nuevos instrumentos, así que aprendió a tocar la flauta y el piano. A los 15 años dejó su casa para emprender su camino a la fama. Al principio fue muy duro para ella, pero fue hasta el siglo XX en donde cambió todo para esta gran cantautora, actriz (por una vez) que con sus atuendos extrovertidos ha influenciado a muchas artistas de ahora.
